Free Printable Logarithmic Graph Paper
Print base-10 semi-log or log-log graph paper. Choose logarithmic axes and one to four decades, with labelled decade boundaries and vector PDF export.
Advanced settings
Square size is calculated to fit your exact counts. Coordinate grids require even counts; dot grids have one more dot than squares along each edge. Isometric and hexagonal paper use edge-spacing mode. Polar paper uses ring spacing. Logarithmic paper uses spacing mode.
For accurate measurements, print the PDF at 100% / Actual Size.

How logarithmic paper works
A logarithmic axis gives equal physical length to each factor-of-ten range. Within each decade, the lines follow base-10 logarithms rather than equal numeric intervals.
Choose settings for your task
Choose Y axis for a semi-log plot of exponential change, X axis when the horizontal values span several orders of magnitude, or Both axes for log-log work. The default covers 1 to 100 on the Y axis.
PDF is the best option for actual-size printing. PNG offers 150 or 300 DPI pixel resolution; SVG keeps physical page dimensions. Match your printer paper and use 100% scale.

Your printer is probably shrinking the page
Print dialogs may use Fit to page, which changes the size of the grid. The amount depends on your paper and printer settings. On a 5 mm grid that turns every square into 4.7 mm. It is small enough to go unnoticed and large enough to ruin a scale drawing, a knitting chart, or a floor plan. Change this one setting before you print.
Chrome / Edge
Open More settings, find Scale, switch it from Default to Custom and type 100.
Adobe Acrobat
Under Page Sizing & Handling choose Actual size. Do not leave it on Fit or Shrink oversized pages.
Safari / macOS Preview
Expand the dialog, set Scale to 100%, and make sure Scale to Fit is unchecked.
Firefox
Open More settings and set Scale to 100 instead of Fit to page width.
Paper must match
Printing a Letter PDF onto A4 may scale or crop the page, depending on your settings. Pick the paper you actually have loaded.
Phone printing
Mobile print flows usually scale without asking and give you no control. For anything you intend to measure, print from a computer.
How to check it worked: lay a ruler on the two bars at the bottom of the sheet. The upper one must read 100 mm and the lower one 4 inches. If both are short by the same proportion, the page was scaled — fix the setting and print again. The bars help you verify the physical size before using a sheet for measured work.
Choose a spacing or another paper style
Each size has its own page, with the exact measurements, how many squares fit on each sheet, what it is normally used for and which sizes it gets mistaken for. Or type any value into the custom field above — metric or imperial, no size is off limits.
Questions
What is a decade, and can I plot zero?
A decade is a factor-of-ten range: 1 to 10 is one decade, and 1 to 100 is two. Zero and negative values have no position on this base-10 logarithmic scale. Advanced settings offers one to four decades.
Why doesn't my printed graph paper measure correctly?
Check print scaling first. Fit to page may shrink the grid, depending on your printer, paper and settings.
The measuring bars on every sheet here exist to catch exactly this. If the metric bar reads 96 mm instead of 100, your page was scaled to 96 percent and every square is 4 percent small.
Can I use exact square counts or cell numbering?
This paper uses spacing mode. Exact square counts and square cell numbering are available with the square grid instead. You can still change paper size, margins, colour and line width.
Should I choose A4 or Letter?
Choose whichever is loaded in your printer. A4 is standard in Europe, Asia, Australia and most of the world; Letter is standard in the US and Canada. Printing on a different paper size may scale or crop the sheet, depending on the settings.
Is it free, and can I use it for work?
Yes to both. There is no signup, no watermark and no limit on how many sheets you generate. The PDFs are plain vector line work and you are free to use them for schoolwork, client work or anything else.
Why is the file so small?
The PDF is drawn as vector lines rather than an image, so a full sheet is only a few kilobytes. It also means the grid stays perfectly sharp at any zoom level and prints at your printer's full resolution instead of whatever a picture happened to be saved at.
Can I get a size that isn't listed?
Yes. Type any number into the custom size field and switch the unit between millimetres and inches. The sheet is rebuilt as you type, and the preview always shows exactly what the PDF will contain.
